We have a cute, adorable house. That’s code for small. Sure people live in less, but we’re shootin’ for a bit more.

When we purchased our house, it had great potential. Now we’re putting that to good use!
The second floor of the house was fully dormered in the back, but there were only 4 non-insulated bare walls up there, no flooring, 2 normal windows and 1 tiny bathroom one. See, I told you it had potential. And we have BIG plans.
Here’s a quick look at where we came from:
This is our little castle in 2005, all 720 sq. ft of it!.
That’s super cute D in the photo and The Beast (D’s old Buick) in the driveway.
Since then we have made quite a few changes.
First we replaced the unsafe deck on the back of the house. Super unsafe to be exact. Then we replaced the windows and painted (the front). We still haven’t pained the sides yet. We’re so lazy, it’s ok if that was your first thought there.
Oh yea and that’s the newer car we purchased when The Beast finally died. I was so glad when that day came. (D had had to keep a fire extinguisher in the car because the gas tank leaked. And since my sweet wonderful D is a bit on the cheap and stingy side, it had to die before it went.)
Last year we put in dormers on the front of the house, and new windows on the back of the upstairs. The plan will include 3 bedrooms and a completely awesome bathroom. (More on that later) As soon as the furnace is finished being installed we can finally finish the upstairs!! Woo hoo!
Here’s where we are now. Heading toward 1350 sq. ft !!
Someday the stairs that go to the second floor will no longer be referred to as The Stairs to Nowhere.
Next up I am going to post the plans to change the downstairs and the final plans for the upstairs.
What do you think so far?
