Simply American
In our family, this might be the first generation that will say… I am an American without first listing off a few other countries.
D and I sat down to figure out what was Little G’s nationality… Yikes.
Here’s the breakdown folks.
Mom |
Little G |
Dad |
50% Irish 18.75% Native American 18.75% French 6.25% Scottish 6.25% English |
28.125% Irish 12.5% Italian 12.5% Slovak 12.5% Swedish 9.375% Native American 9.375% French 6.25% English 6.25% Polish 3.125% Scottish |
25% Italian 25% Slovak 25% Swedish 12.5% Polish 6.25% Irish 6.25% English |
Wow! That is a mouthful. I think that this is the start of a very dramatic change in our country.
I know that there are children out there that have very few nationalities, but with each generation we are getting closer and closer to being simply Americans.
I don’t know what this will mean for our child, but when he is asked what’s your nationality…that will be tough to answer.
What is your nationality, and what is the nationality of your children… are they as much a mixture as our little guy?
