Ugh! Is this a male specific trait. And, what does this mean for my future?

Honey, where is the bowl.

It’s in the cabinet.

Where? I don’t see it.

It’s in the cabinet on the bottom shelf in the middle.

Are you sure?

Yes.

It’s not there.

YES it is.

I CAN’T see it!

Oh fine! (Walk over pick up bowl from middle bottom shelf in the cabinet)

Thanks.

(pfffft – smoke rising from my head)

Does this trait absolute have to be passed down to Little G? Is there any possible way I could curb this bad habit from being passed down? Am I doomed to hunt down all the random things in the house?

IT MAKES ME WANT TO RIP MY HAIR OUT!!!!

This happens with my children too. So I think it is just a moms responsiblity to know where everything is at and to get it.

  • Eclipsed

I get so frustrated with this too, it's like I'm supposed to have a mental map of every item we own and where it belongs.

    Don't even get me started….Grrrr!

Well, my husband also is a carrier of this not so fun XY trait. It hasn't passed on to my little boys…yet. Your scenario in a daily occurance and drives me mad. It happens A LOT when he's looking in the fridge. An epidemic?? Possibly. Visiting from NFF!

  • Heavenly Savings

Oh yes!!! Makes me want to beat my head against the wall.

Or the other — when we have a conversation and he'll reply, "I don't think so" or "No, you didn't"…to something I've said. I'm not an idiot…I know what I said or did. It's not my fault your brain cells and hearing decided to take a vacation

Ugh, the fridge, that is the worst!! It did get a teeny tiny bit better when we figured out that he just couldn't see the top shelf. Now, at least, I know that's usually where whatever he's looking for is.

  • MomRoad

Oooh I am excited to visit your blog. I love doing projects…well starting them anyway. I have to get better at finishing them. I'm heading over now.

  • MomRoad

The "no, you didn't usually comes about 2-3 minutes after I said whatever he thinks I didn't…so frustrating! LOL

This is exactly my husband. Drives me out of my tree. I started laughing this morning when my youngest pulled the "where?" trick. Her Father's Daughter.

Just stopping in from New Friend Friday to say hi. 🙂

  • MomRoad

Oh dear, it never even occurred to me that this could be passed to a daughter!

  • xenia

Shockingly, my husband isn't too bad at finding things… his problem is remembering WHERE he put them. He'll move something just because he doesn't like seeing it out and then when it's time that we need it, he has no idea where it went. SO frustrating!

Thanks for stopping by for a belated UPB10… and hey, Happy Friday Follow as well! I'm following your cute blog now and looking forward to reading more!

I know I am reading this late, but it cracked it me up. I have three sons and a husband. My best advice to you…….have a daughter some day. 🙂 Daughters are great at finding things and you can teach your sons to ask her! It will cut your "finding" questions in half.
