*Update: Check out my video comparison of the Ergo vs. Lillebaby Everywear

I broke down and bought the new lillebaby carrier. Suh-weet!

If you are on the fence about this decision, just do it. I cannot be happier.

Sweet: weight, has a sleeping hood, super easy to use, doesn’t look like it’s choking the baby 🙂
Sour: talked this over with D and with have no sour spots with this

To start with, the EveryWear is compact. I have heard that it is less bulky than the Ergo but I can’t comment on that as I haven’t tried the Ergo. It folds almost as small as the Belle, and definitely smaller than the Björn style carriers.

I was very torn about buying the regular or the organic model. I wanted a breathable and soft fabric. I ended up purchasing the regular and was pleasantly surprised with this when it came in. It’s not as breathable as mesh but does a nice job on the hot days we have had so far. The fabric is soft on both the outside and the inside.

Out of the box the carrier comes with 1 carrier, 1 sleep hood, 1 infant head support, 1 infant body support. I haven’t seen an infant body support for the other brands I had been looking at. The body support is an extra strap that connects on the interior of the carrier to make sure that younger children are securely held in the carrier. Little G didn’t need this support but I’m happy it’s there because I plan on using this carrier throughout our children. The infant head support is also really great, I did try this out and it still works for Little G now. Some other brands had an additional piece you could buy that does this, so it was nice that the EveryWear came with it.

The Everywear has 5 carry positions. Front inward facing, front outward facing, hip, back, and the cradle position (requires additional piece).
I tried the 4 positions that I could with Little G, not the cradle as he is too big and I did not purchase the additional piece.
All 4 positions were easy to switch to and Little G enjoyed them all. The is virtually no learning curve on this carrier. I was able to explain the carrier in a matter of minutes to my friend and while she was watching Little G she chose to switch it to the hip position with no problems.

We took the carrier with us to Martha’s Vineyard last weekend and it was such a lifesaver. I didn’t have to worry about having the stroller and where would I put it in the tiny little restaurants… it was really great. Not to mention he easily drifted off to sleep in it. We held him for part of the first day, and wearing the carrier made such a difference. I was shocked at how much more comfortable it was to hold him in the carrier and not my arms.

At one point while on the ferry, Little G was having such a fit because he was exhausted and didn’t want to be in his stroller. An infant screaming on a boat that you can’t escape is no fun for anyone! I pulled out the Everywear, popped him in (by myself by the way), put up the sleep hood and he drifted off to sleep. I was a little nervous about the sleep hood but I have used it more than once now with no freak outs. It gives him just enough vision not to cry and covers enough to let him drift off.

This is a great carrier and I would recommend it to anyone, I’m so glad I took the plunge and bought this.
