swear bubble
Recently I came across an blog post  on BabyCenter.com discussing your child swearing.  It was a good post. But it wasn’t the post that caught my attention.

It was the comments.

The comments ranged from the “we don’t swear” to “we try not to swear” to…

“we teach our toddler to swear”

ARE YOU KIDDING?

I do not understand that. I just can’t wrap my head around it. The people that said it was funny when their child picked up a swear, I can understand that. We’re going to try not to laugh and try to ignore it when it happens, but I do understand it.

Then you have the parents that deliberately teach their child  to swear. I don’t get it. Why would you do that? You have this sweet innocent little child. Why would you chose to have the world crash in on them? At some point they will hear swears and most likely say them. But why rush it?

I wish I had the answers. But I don’t.

I can tell you that we will not be teaching our son to swear. And when it does happen, we’ll take it as it comes.

Since I have found this fun little poll option, I’m going to put it to a poll for you guys. Let me know what you think and feel free to drop a comment.
