Some things are just wrong.
Maybe they were a great idea… in theory. But, there are lots of great ideas in theory.
While searching around for a portable high chair I came across something called the Baby Keeper.
This…

Is not ok.
Apparently the ideal scenario is that you are out and about with your bub, and oh no! you have to pee. What do you do with the little one?
Well you pull out this really big and bulky carrier thing with hooks on it, that you happen to have stashed in your (necessary) suitcase sized diaper bag.
They you take the little guy out of whatever other carrier type thing he’s in and pop him in this one. The nifty little hooks at the top are great, so you can walk into the public (miniscule) toilet and hang your little guy from the wall.
Problem solved!

They did a review on Rachael Ray on one of these, and yea it wasn't that big of a hit either. Seriously, I usually have the baby in the carrier, or I go into the really big stall, or a family bathroom and just bring in a cart.

    I think that's pretty cool, personally. 🙂

ok I don't know about the public bathrooms where this things was ever tested (if actually tested) but most of the bathrooms I go into would fall right over if I hung my kid from them! NOT A GOOD item I'd say!!

    So weird…
    People have the craziest ideas!

LOL, before I even read your post I looked at the picture and thought, "Oh My, I am going to have to reply to this post…that is so Not a great product." Then I went back and read your text to discover you had the same thought, lol.

I have needed to pee while out with baby and I have handled it in many simple ways without hanging my child or grandchild to the stall door.

    Choices I have made:

If the baby is in a stroller or shopping cart I just use the large handicap stall and take the stroller/shopping cart right inside with me.

If the stalls are too small or I was holding the baby, I have learned (moms learn the strangest skills) to undo my pants while holding a child then just sit the child on my lap…done this one Many, Many times.

If I had difficult pants and needed to sit the baby down I have piled toilet seat covers on the floor and sat them down on it long enough to undo my pants, and then again to redo them.

If none of those options were available, I didn't go. It is that simple.

I would never buy that product, give it to a friend, or ever carry it in my baby & maternity store! It is S-T-U-P-I-D!

For me, the biggest downside was the sheer size of it. Who can carry that thing around… with all of your other stuff. If my carrier had nifty little hooks on it, that would be a different situation 🙂

Amber you have to check out my just posted blog post and see the new things they have for DOGS. Perhaps I should get you one for Coco? 🙂

Ps- I'm totally buying this for you with your next kid

  • Myrtle

I have never seen anything like this. I like the idea but for some reason it looks a little scary. I don't know why because the baby obviously looks happy!

  • Amber @ The Mom Road

I never even thought of the sturdiness of the walls. That's a good point!

  • Amber @ The Mom Road

Next kid? Who said anything about next…lol. I'm going to get it for you!
