I am full of big ideas. Big plans and fun stuff. I get excited at planning things, and working out just the right way to do them. But, my I have so much difficulty finishing. Sometimes I have to distract myself, or take away distractions, but however I get it done, it’s painful.

When I started going to Curves with a friend of mine, I actually told the girl there that I would most likely quit. I know myself. It’s like pulling teeth to get me to follow through.

So here I am, trying to do just that.

This year I have another tool at my disposal and I think it will work.
I have heard that it takes 30 days to make a habit (or break one). I usually last about 2 weeks, sometimes less. While visiting Ann Voskamp’s blog www.aholyexperience.com I noticed she is using a 100 day calendar that she created. You write down 3 things each day and then check them off when you accomplish them. I am a very visual person, this should help me. Not to mention, I love being able to check something off as being done.

I am writing the date each morning, and the three items to change. Hoping to help ingrain these changes into my stubborn head.
  • pray before bedtime
  • brush my teeth at night
  • no snacking after dinner
So far I have missed one. I intended on it, but I fell asleep the second my head hit the pillow.

If you’re looking to make a change, you should try this. And head over to Ann’s page, she’s fantastic.
