Baby in antique wooden high chairImage via Wikipedia

We have decided to bite the bullet and buy a high chair.

Why? you ask. Why would you buy a high chair for a child that is so close to leaving his behind?

Well the answer is simple. He won’t be leaving his chair behind anytime soon.

Our son has no fear. NO FEAR. He will leap out of his chair just because. He will kick his foot up on the table, and push back… just because. He will push on the seat of the kitchen chair to push himself back… just because.

And just because it isn’t safe, we’ll be biting the bullet, and spending the money, and buying a real high chair.

While his current chair has served us well, I would rather have piece of mind than the extra money in my pocket.

His current chair is a booster style that sits on top of a regular kitchen chair. The main problem that we face, is that the base is not wide enough to keep him from tipping over.

This is the chair he has:

We have put a lot of thought into this purchase. That is code for, I googled every chair I could find, and then presented options to D. D of course had opinions on each of these. My first thought was to get one of the chairs that clips directly to the table. They are inexpensive and would solve our problem.

Nope, he didn’t like that.

More searching, and more options…. Finally found the chair for us (and that we agreed upon, those are not always the same thing). This chair will grow with him and we’ll have it for years to come, or so I hope.

The chair should arrive on Saturday, so stay tuned for a post on that. Yippee!

Thanks for listening.
