G will be 2 in 5 days. Crazy. Along with all his growing and learning he has been talking up a STORM.

He has started to develop his own sense of humor, and he definitely has an opinion about what he wants and doesn’t want.  He has learned to say “No like it” which actually helps some now. Instead of chucking his food on the floor he’ll tell us that he doesn’t like it and hand it back. So much better. But now he’s even starting to express why he doesn’t like things. Recently we found out why he wouldn’t eat a couple of dinners.

D will make pasta with some olive oil and spices in it. It’s basic but yummy. For a long time now even if we picked the less spiced pastas, G would always refuse them. We would have to rinse them off and give him just plain noodles. I had always attributed this to his heightened taste buds. Nope! Last time we tried to give him this his response was ” No like it, buggies!” He thought we were feeding him bugs!

Also, we had bought him some of those packaged toddler meals. They are great to have on hand when we want to make something that really can’t be adapted for G’s allergies. The last set I bought was something with corn and beans. D and I don’t like beans so we rarely have them. But G liked them when he was out with Grandma and Grandpa. So, why not?
We placed the food in front of him.

He wouldn’t even try it, and kept trying to shove it away. “No!!! No like it!” Eventually he told us why… “Dirty!” Poor kid, this time he thought we were feeding him dirt.

Hi sense of humor is by far the most fun though. On Sunday, G got to meet some real, live sheep. He was so excited. He yelled sheep, did a little squeal, yelled “Hi Sheep!” He tried to talk with them, “baaa!” and was generally in awe. As we were leaving we told him to say bye bye to the sheep but instead we got, “Baaa bye!”
