This weekend was cold. We had our first snow storm of the year… in October!

I’m not sure that I know how to react to the first line. I had to dig out Big Brother’s snow pants and jacket etc so that he could go outside with D to shovel and make snowmen. So here we are in the midst of Halloween and along comes Christmas… but then again, who doesn’t love Christmas? And with that comes the need for Christmas cards. If you want to see what we’re doing this year and get a chance to win 25 cards yourself, click through to see more.

Every year we end up sending our Christmas cards super super late. Last year we sent them as New Years’ cards. We selected a wonderful card from Shutterfly, which is now my favorite.

The idea of sending cards has become so much more important since we had children. People want to see how they have grown and have something nice to look at on their fridge. For those reasons I am going to stick to a similar type of card this year. I like the idea of sharing photos from throughout the year to show not only where we are as a family but where we have been too. The flat card is my personal preference because it’s easy to put up on the fridge and to be honest we still see last year’s card hanging on several family member’s fridges.

This year I found a few cards that meet my criteria.

The nice part about using Shutterfly is that the hard work is already done. I just have to pick the photos I want to use. Since I just had Little Sister last week this is really going to be a help and a time saver for me. I think I might change it up and us the highlights of 2011 card this year… but who knows there are so many to choose from.

If you don’t want to use a ton of photos like I do… don’t worry they have more than enough to choose from.

To get you started, check out their Christmas CardsChristmas Photo Cards and Holiday Cards… and if you’re late like me you can always look at the New Year’s Cards.

If we don’t get our cards done in time, we might be sending something like this…

Amber, I loved your “Year of Saffos” card last year, and I think I may do that this year! It’s fun to see the progression through the year! Great idea!
