So now that we finally have beautiful wood floors and a gorgeous new rug…. now, after years of ugly, hideous carpeting… now, we have stains showing up all the time.

Our latest awful stains have been grape and blood. the blood stains were super tiny, but still I wanted them gone. And the grape juice was pretty big. So I did a little searching and came across quite a few ways to get rid of stains. Honestly the easiest way to get rid of these pesky stains was simple home supplies. This is a simple trick that I think everyone, especially those with messy toddlers should know. It’s been a lifesaver, and apparently works on older stains too, though I haven’t tested any older ones.

For the blood I dabbed (not rubbed) a paper towel that had vinegar on it. Simple and worked like a charm.

The grape juice was more of a 3 part process.

  1. Dab up the extra liquid with a cloth or paper towel.
  2. Blot with the paper towel with vinegar on it. Get up as much as you can.
  3. Pour copious amounts of salt on the stain. Let this sit for a loooooong time, it should absorb the color.20130308-100925.jpg
  4. Repeat if necessary (wasn’t for me).

Viola!!
